Chalimaya was born into a Hindu family and has two sons and three daughters. She gave her life to Jesus after He healed her daughter, and as a result, her entire family also came to faith in Him. Previously, she and her family worshiped many gods. After attending Bible training, she developed a deep desire to share the message of God with many in her village. So far, she has seen four households come to Jesus, and she is praying that the entire village will soon follow. She is seeking funding to plant a church here in this village to disciple the people and support her evangelism efforts.
Country Information:
Christian churches in Nepal serve a crucial role in providing spiritual guidance, community support, and social services to the Christian population in the country. As a minority religion in Nepal (less than 1.5%), Christians often face challenges in practicing their faith openly, making the presence of churches vital for maintaining their religious identity and fostering a sense of belonging. These churches not only offer a space for worship and prayer but also serve as centers for education, healthcare, and humanitarian aid, particularly in remote and marginalized areas where government resources may be limited. Furthermore, Christian churches promote interfaith dialogue and understanding, contributing to the overall diversity and harmony of Nepal's religious landscape. In a nation marked by religious plurality, the existence of Christian churches underscores the importance of tolerance, acceptance, and freedom of religion for all citizens.
