Jocelyn Rubiato has felt called to ministry since attending Bible Training School from 2005–2007, where God began shaping her heart to serve Him and care for those with little opportunity to hear the Gospel. Her calling became especially clear when she saw the many children in her village who were growing up without knowing the Lord, and God placed a deep compassion in her heart to care for both their physical and spiritual needs. Alongside her sister, Jocelyn committed to teaching these children God’s Word, sharing the love of Jesus, and helping them grow in faith from a young age. She believes God has called her to plant a church that will reach children and families, provide discipleship and practical support, and build a Christ centered community in the village. Jocelyn’s desire is to see children grow up knowing and following Jesus and to see their families transformed through the Gospel.
Christian churches play a significant role in the Philippines. These churches serve as pillars of faith, providing spiritual guidance, moral support, and a sense of community to millions of Filipinos across the archipelago. In a country where religion permeates many aspects of daily life, Christian churches offer solace and strength amidst personal challenges and societal upheavals. They also contribute to the social fabric by engaging in charitable activities, educational initiatives, and advocacy for social justice. As symbols of faith and compassion, Christian churches remain indispensable in meeting the spiritual, social, and emotional needs of the Filipino people.
