Junrey is 13 years old. He was living in a very remote mountain village in the Philippines in very poor living conditions. He just recently came to live at our Hope House orphanage to receive proper education and food and shelter. The Hope house is located in Kabasalan on the island of Mindanao in the southern part of the Philippines. This region struggles greatly with extreme poverty. The burden this extreme poverty puts a family is simply overwhelming, consequently many of the children are forced to work and help financially support the family as a child laborer. This is just one tragic outcome as the children here are also highly susceptible to child trafficking, gang enslavement and starvation.
